You might have noticed that there was a counter added to the right side of the screen that displays how long I have been smoke free. So far it is accurate, meaning I haven’t had a cigarette in that long. When I quit before, it was using a drug called Chantix that worked great for me, it just cut out the urges and made the cigarettes taste horrible. This time I am quiting cold turkey and I think what is helping me stick with is is my commitment to my girlfriend to keep a promise that I would quit. I know most of my readers are non-smokers so you really can’t relate to how tough this can be. So far its a lot easier than I thought it would be. Don’t get me wrong, I would love to go outside and smoke, but I just think of something else for a few minutes and the craving stops.
So far the benefits are awesome. I can breathe deeper, I can smell things I couldn’t before, and so far I have saved about $20 in cigarettes. I am not the only one to quit in the office, Jerad also decided to quit. What was once an office that would leave every 45 minutes to get their fix, now sits quietly and does their work. Hooray for us!
